In a notable decision by the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT), Tunisian basketball player Wassef Methnani emerged victorious in his financial dispute against Etoile Sportive du Sahel. The arbitration, presided over by Arbitrator Benny Lo, concluded with a comprehensive award in favor of Methnani, highlighting the club’s failure to fulfill its contractual obligations.
Methnani, represented by attorney Nilo Effori, successfully argued that Etoile Sportive du Sahel had defaulted on several payments owed under his contract. The BAT's award mandates that the club pay Methnani a total of TND 40,000, distributed across multiple instalments, each accruing interest at 5% per annum from their respective due dates until payment in full.
