Qadsia Sporting Club Secures Legal Victory in BAT Arbitration

Qadsia Sporting Club has successfully defended against a claim brought before the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT) by Serbian professional basketball player Mr. Vladimir Štimac. The claim aimed to secure payment of unpaid agency fees amounting to USD 20,000, plus interest, to the player's agent, Wasserman France.

Represented by attorney Mr. Nilo Effori, Qadsia Sporting Club argued that Mr. Štimac had previously waived all financial claims against the club, including those on behalf of his agent, in a transfer agreement. The BAT Arbitrator ruled in favor of Qadsia Sporting Club, dismissing the claim and ordering Mr. Štimac to bear the full arbitration costs and reimburse the club for legal fees. This decision underscores the importance of clear contractual agreements and the binding nature of waivers in sports arbitration.
